Are you eager to spend time with high level professionals from Space Business and Science? If your answer is YES! come and join us on the great EOVation Hackathon weekend on 22-23 April in Warsaw.
“Using networking games to learn about climate change and adaptation strategies, creating mobile applications for users in various sectors and creating climate services responding to local problems associated with climate changes – these are examples of the challenges facing the participants of the 24-hour hackathon EOVation Warsaw” – said EO ClimLab Innovation Project Manager, Iuliia Strotska.
The event is organized in the frames of the international project of European Space Agency EO ClimLab, which aims to build and develop a data analytics platform for climate data to support the creation of innovative products and services that respond to climate change. Hackathon EOVation Warsaw is to encourage and activate students, startups and business people to work and create solutions for the social and business challenges related to climate change. The initiative is supported by the Institute of Sustainable Development and the Energy Conservation Foundation. In addition, letters of intent were sent by such organizations as Mazovia Energy Agency, UNEP / GRID and Climate KIC.
The organizers of the event are Kapitech as a partner of the European Space Agency project EO Climlab and Brain Embassy in the frames of ‘BE Involved’ workshop series.
By using the power of diverse minds, participants need to face the important problems of the modern world. “We want to involve the community in the implementation of the 17 sustainable development goals of United Nations. We are eager to enter into the projects with similar aspirations. This time, together with EO ClimLab, we organize 24-hour workshops responding to the goal 13: Climate action. We would like particularly to support the challenges related to improving air quality in Warsaw. The team who will take on the challenges of this group and will be most interesting for us will be invited to develop the project in our space for one month” – explained Kasia Wojnar, Program Manager at Brain Embassy.
Planned number of participants is 50 people. During the event organizers provide: access to the EO ClimLab platform integrated by Integrated Solutions and Orange Polska, training on the use of satellite data, assistance from key experts on the Polish market, experts from European Space Agency, support of industry experts, contact with companies. Registration starts on 18 March 2017 at http://eoclimlab.eu/eovation-warsaw-2017-2/ and will last until 19 April 2017.

EOVation hackathon will take place in the co-creating space of Brain Embassy in Warsaw, at Aleje Jerozolimskie 181, building B.
Conditions of participation in the event are registration and acceptance and compliance with the Hackathon Rules. Participation in Hackathon is free of charge. Admission to the contest is a decision of a team of organizers.
