Energy audit of production buildings and electric drives

Objective

The aim of the study is to identify, sizing and estimating the costs and effects of projects aimed at reducing energy costs by the buildings and electrical equipment plant.

Scope

Type of energy saving project Savings in %* Payback period of savings (years)*
Thermomodernization of the building 15-40 8-15
Modernization of mechanical ventilation with air conditioning 10-15 5-15
Modernization of the heating system 5-25 5-20
Modernization of lighting 30-70 0,5-6
Modernization of water installation 30-70 0,5-2
Modernization of electrical drives 20-60 5-15
Modernization of compressed air system 5-30 1-10
Modernization of heat and steam transmission networks 5-30 5-10
Modernization of heat sources 5-15 5-20

* depending on the specific type of project, savings may be higher or lower, and the payback period is shorter or longer

Methodology

1. Preparation of the audit

The building audit specifies the direction of thermo-modernization of buildings, and in particular includes:

  • The building audit specifies the direction of thermo-modernization of buildings, and in particular includes:
  • Multi-option projection of the energy standard of buildings for the considered variants of raising the thermal insulation of objects and modernization of heating and ventilation systems.
  • Optimizing the scope of thermomodernization investments by selecting works that deliver the highest energy standards of buildings at the lowest investment cost.

2. Development of lighting and electrical drives audit:

  • The audit of internal lighting and electrical drives includes an inventory of lighting points and drives, and it proposes replacement of existing equipment for energy efficient and / or automatic adjustment systems.

3. Preparation of audit of transmission networks and heat sources:

  • The audit of transmission networks and heat sources includes an inventory of equipment and a proposal for energy efficiency improvements.
